Mammoth Lake Texas

Important Information

Please read before booking training, renting equipment, purchasing a day pass, or participating in any in-water activity at Mammoth Lake Texas.

Before You Arrive: Certified divers must complete the Mammoth waiver, purchase the appropriate day pass, and be prepared to show proof of certification.

Training Providers & Dive Professionals

Before booking any scuba experience, verify that your instructor or training provider meets professional industry standards.

A qualified instructor should be:

  • In active teaching status with a recognized scuba training agency such as SDI, SSI, PADI, NAUI, or another recognized agency.
  • Properly insured for instructional activities.
  • Operating through, or affiliated with, a recognized dive center, facility, or training business.

Business registration alone is not the same as scuba industry recognition, current teaching status, insurance, or quality assurance oversight.

Students should always confirm instructor credentials, insurance, agency status, and training standards before booking any course or dive experience.

Medical & Health Considerations

Diving is generally safe for individuals in good health or with well-managed medical conditions. Some medical conditions may require physician approval before diving.

Participants should generally:

  • Have basic swimming ability.
  • Feel comfortable in the water.
  • Have no cold, sinus, nasal, or congestion issues that may affect equalization.
  • Avoid alcohol, recreational drugs, or impairing medications before in-water activities.
  • Follow agency guidance regarding flying after diving.

All participants must complete the appropriate medical statement before engaging in scuba training or in-water activities. Physician clearance may be required if you answer “yes” to certain medical questions or have a medical condition requiring review.

Participant Requirements

  • Certified divers must present proof of certification from a recognized scuba training agency.
  • Divers may be asked to show recent dive experience or a logbook.
  • All guests must complete the Mammoth Lake Texas waiver before participating in diving, snorkeling, training, equipment rental, or water activities.
  • Failure to meet requirements may result in denial of rental equipment, training participation, or water access.

Inactive Certified Divers

Scuba skills fade over time. To support safety and comfort, divers who have not been active may be asked to complete a refresher or skills review before diving independently or renting equipment.

  • If your last dive was 12 months ago or longer, a refresher may be recommended or required.
  • If you have been inactive for several years, additional review or training may be required before diving without professional supervision.
  • If your last dive was more than 10 years ago, additional training may be required before independent diving.

Mammoth Lake Texas and Mammoth Dive Academy reserve the right to deny rental equipment or participation if safety requirements are not met.

Adaptive & Classified Divers

Adaptive and classified diver programs help make scuba diving accessible for people with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. Training and supervision requirements may vary based on the diver’s abilities, certification, agency standards, and support needs.

  • Training may be adapted to the individual diver’s abilities and comfort level.
  • Some divers may require a specially trained buddy or professional supervision.
  • Clear communication before arrival helps us plan appropriately and safely.

If you need accommodations, please contact Mammoth in advance.
